Lee Oskar Harmonica pouches and Slide pouches

Custom order designed for Andy in the UK

Those were created especially to Andy's specifications and needs.

A soft leather Harmonica and Slide belt. Nothing fancy. Had to be practical first and foremost for on stage access (easy opening, fitting snug but not too tight) and been able to be kept out of the way of his guitar playing. I agree. Absolutely.

Keeping this in mind, I chose to wet mold the pouches to the shape of the harmonicas, made it so as they can be put in the right way, ready to be played, straight out. The catches are magnetic clasps for easy opening and closing, those things just find their own way back, so its a breeze. Of prime importance to me and I'm sure Andy will be gracefuly thankful for that in many future gigs. Can you imagine struggling trying to get your harps out then getting them the wrong way round, not a good look.hey hey.

I used a 1mm modeling bark tanned leather for the top and a 1.5 mm for the back to give it some sturdiness but still remain pliable. The back of the Harp pouch has 4 individual loops and the one for the Slides, 2 loops. That is so as they bend around the body better, fit Andy snuggly and not bulge out therefore not get in his way. To achieve this further and give them a slim line, Andy included. I also formed the completly assembled pouches with harps and slides in using a leather dressing .

The actual belt is 3mm thick and as usual buckle is covered with kangaroo leather and the all lot handstitched with a good quality linen waxed thread.

Well I think that's got it covered. I enjoyed making those ( I like molding leather ) and I liked the allready "worn in" look they had when finished.

Hi Chantal

The goods arrived today safe and sound.

I have to say that the belt and pouches are everything I was looking for and more. You've done a superb job.

The leather is nicely aged and supple and everything fits perfectly.I love the way that you have moulded the harp pouches exactly to the shape of the harmonicas and, as you said, they are exactly the right way round to pull out and play. The slides fit very well.....not too tight not too loose. The catches also drop back into place nicely.
That's one piece of kit I can put on at the start of the gig and forget about, knowing I've got what I want to hand when I need it. When you've got guitar changes, different pedal settings, words, chords, how does this number end? etc to think about one less thing to organise makes life that bit easier and I can concentrate a bit more on the music and the entertainment.

Thanks for all you ideas, enthusiasm and skill .
